The crown has a large yellow label sewn in with the Burberrys logo and Aus 43655 W/O Penrose R. V. and the leather chinstrap is held in place by 2 plain cloth covered black buttons. Raymond Victor Penrose enlisted on 27 Mar 1943 at Perth and discharged on 23 Jan 1946 as a Warrant Officer from 14 Aircrew Holding Unit.

The sweatband is glued in place, so no makers mark can be seen, the chinstrap is held in place by 2 plastic RAAF buttons.
